So we had a hand in the dictatorships of places like Haiti. The truth is we’ve tried to help the place for several generations, and 99% of the blame of Haiti being Haiti still rests with Haitians and Haitian culture.
It’s not good to blame the USA for shitholes being shitholes, for the most part, because deflecting the blame there means the ensuing discussion won’t find where the fault really lies. You’re enabling the very factors that keep the place a shithole.
